AGM 2019

Kent Group Of Advanced Motorists 41st AGM was held on Tuesday 21st May. It opened with a talk from our guest speaker Kent Police and Crime Commissioner Matthew Scott.
Matthew's talk described his role and responsibilities within Kent Police and the public and all the actions and responsibilities he has within Policing in Kent. He focused on a number of issues Kent Police has faced in recent times, including the decreasing numbers of officers in the county, local policing and roads policing. He also talked about victim support and how it’s improved and how their is still much work to be done.
Matthew invited our group in a Q&A session. Many questions were asked on the issues he'd been talking about, including questions about policing on the counties road. Matthew was able to give some good news that traffic policing has increased and now has 96 officers in total in the Roads Policing Unit. Adding that around 14 officers are policing the roads at any given time. He acknowledged the more needs to be done to tackle antisocial behaviours on the road. He explained that officer numbers are up and there will be more officers in the beat and more PCSO's out on the streets given vital supporting roles to the officers.
After Matthews positive talk and questions and answers session our Chairman Linda Davies took to the stand for official AGM business.
